A love story in the making

Some relationships take time before they become obvious.

Debrielle and Nathan met during their final semester of college. Nathan had always admired Debrielle but never wanted to risk their friendship. Eventually, they took the leap—and five years later, they stood surrounded by the people who had watched their story unfold.

In those years, they built a life together in all the ordinary ways that end up meaning the most. They adopted dogs, moved into a home together, navigated unexpected career changes, and learned how to keep choosing one another through every season.

That quiet foundation showed up in every part of their wedding day.

A Spring ceremony filled with heart

The day began beneath spring skies as guests gathered at Country Club Christian Church. A live violinist welcomed everyone into the sanctuary, creating an atmosphere that felt both elegant and deeply personal.

As Debrielle walked down the aisle, there was an unmistakable sense of anticipation. Throughout the ceremony, tears were met with smiles, and every glance between the two of them reflected years of friendship that had grown into something extraordinary.

One of our favorite moments came just after they were pronounced husband and wife. Surrounded by cheering family and friends, they exited the church through a shower of rose petals wearing the biggest smiles. The moment lasted only seconds.

They’ll remember it forever.

A Hotel Kansas City wedding that felt entirely their own

There are plenty of reasons couples choose a Hotel Kansas City wedding. The historic architecture. The downtown location. The convenience of keeping guests together all weekend.

For Debrielle and Nathan, it was all of those things—but more than anything, they wanted the celebration to feel effortless. Guests gathered on the rooftop overlooking the Kansas City skyline before making their way into the Tudor Ballroom, where old-world architecture met lush spring florals in every shade of pink.

Nothing about the design felt accidental.

More than 300 peonies were hand-picked by Debrielle, her mom, and neighbors in the weeks leading up to the wedding so that the florist could design with the brides dream flower. The bridesmaids wore shades of pink because the bride simply loved the color. An ice luge poured Veuve Clicquot late into the evening. Every detail reflected who they were rather than what was expected.

That’s always our favorite kind of design—beautiful because it’s personal.

A dance floor that never needed encouragement

Some receptions build slowly.

This one didn’t.

Dance has been part of Debrielle’s life for years. As a former college dancer who now coaches her alma mater’s team, movement has always been one of the ways she tells a story. So it only made sense that she and Nathan choreographed their first dance together.

Later in the evening, the university mascot surprised guests, and the dance team filled the floor with poms in hand. It felt less like a planned reception event and more like everyone had been waiting for the music to start.

One of the most emotional moments came when Debrielle shared a dance with her father before all five of her brothers joined them. It was joyful, heartfelt, and a beautiful reflection of the family surrounding them.

The celebration never really slowed down from there.

Photography that preserves what matters most

With a wedding party this large, it’s easy to assume the timeline has to feel rushed.

It doesn’t.

Long before the wedding day, we spent time getting to know Debrielle and Nathan—not just the logistics of their wedding, but what they wanted to remember years from now. Together, we built a timeline that gave them room to be fully present while still creating every photograph they had envisioned.

Because the planning happened ahead of time, we never had to manufacture moments or pull them away from the people they love. We simply created space for the day to unfold naturally.

That’s always the goal.

Their words afterward meant the world to us:

“I cannot imagine the day without you two. These images have us tearing up, giggling, and everything in between.”
